We are bridging science with clinical practice by implementing cutting-edge omics technologies to evaluate the health profile of individuals and their hereditary disease conditions risk. We provide DNA sequencing for targeted panels, which allows us to focus on specific areas of interest at a reduced price and a faster delivery time.
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia in the elderly and affects more than 6 million Americans. It is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the neuropathologic findings of amyloid plaques containing β-amyloid and neurofibrillary tangles in the brain. AD is a complex and heterogeneous disease, influenced by many genetic and environmental factors. One of the well-characterized genetic factors are mutations in the Apolipoprotein E (APOE) gene. Alzheimer’s disease is a genetically heterogeneous disorder and some of the well characterized mutations are in the Apolipoprotein E (APOE), APP, PRNP, PSEN1, PSEN2, SORL1 and TRME2 genes.
Alzheimer's Disease DNA tests 7 gene variations involved in nine key biological processes, which are all key factors in the onset of chronic disease.
